↑Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
↑Armoured & Shielded: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage. Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.
↑Dragon Armour: Fire attacks cannot harm the wearer of this enchanted, volcano-forged armour.
↑Martial Mastery: A rigorous selection process and relentless training have turned this unit into the perfect fighting machine. This effect is lost, however, if the unit is badly damaged.
Regular Dragon Princes are deadly heavy cavalry with a devastating charge. They also have decent melee stats for shock cavalry and high armor. The Fireborn improve upon this by having a bonus vs. large and a 70% flame resistance. This makes them much more of an anti monster/anti cav unit as wlel as protects them from relatively niche fire damage. The Fireborn are one of the best shock cavalry units in the game and should be kept as healthy as possible when under your command.
