Description[ | ]

Long ago, Ulthuan was dominated by the valorous deeds and wise rule of Caledor's Dragon Princes. Now, the royal bloodline has faded, and the power of Dragons has diminished, but Caledor's pride still shines bright. Where they once rode Dragons, today they ride to war upon swift horses. Both mount and rider wear crested ithilmar armour whose style echoes that of the Dragons riders of old. This Dragon armour is forged in the heart of Vaul's Anvil, where ancient enchantments are bound into the cooling ithilmar, ensuring that no lesser flame than the fires of Vaul can offer harm to the armour or its wearer.

  • Armoured & Shielded: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Modifier icon armour piercingArmour-Piercing damage. Modifier icon shieldShields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.
  • Dragon Armour: Fire attacks cannot harm the wearer of this enchanted, volcano-forged armour.
  • Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a Modifier icon bonus vs largedamage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
  • Martial Mastery: A rigorous selection process and relentless training have turned this unit into the perfect fighting machine. This effect is lost, however, if the unit is badly damaged.

The Fireborn are one of the best shock cavalry units in the game and should be kept as healthy as possible when under your command. Like the Dragon Princes, they are a deadly heavy cavalry with a devastating charge that possess decent melee stats for shock cavalry and high armor.

The Fireborn advantages over their regular version is that they have Modifier icon flaming channel Flaming Attacks, Modifier icon bonus vs large Bonus vs Large and a 40% Resistance fire Fire Resistance. This makes them much more of an anti monster/anti cav unit as well as protects them from relatively niche fire damage.
