The Forge is unique mechanic for Dwarfs introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with the Resurgent Update. This mechanic allows the creation of items.
How it works[ | ]
The Forge can be accessed via clicking the hammer and anvil icon in the lower right, while on the campaign map.
The Forge window contains several tabs, for each kind of item. Requirements for crafting each item are listed on the right. Clicking on a required trade resource will zoom your camera to the spot on the map which has that resource and is closest to your empire.
- Up to 54 items can be forged hailing from all major item classes except Arcane Item.
- Item rarity starts at Common all the way to unique Unique.
- Items are forged by combining oathgold resource with a number of trade resources.
- With the exception of the unique rarity items, all items can be forged multiple times.
- The rule of thumb being that the rarer the item the more resources it will require, both in quantity of Oathgold and resource diversity.
- Items can be recycled to recoup some oathgold depending on the item rarity (recycling unique items means they will be permanently removed from the current game).
Therefore, players wanting to fully utilize this game mechanic can pursue a number of strategies, from establishing trade agreements or embarking on aggressive expansionism, to produce more oathgold and have access to many of the 16 trade resources required.

Artefact Vault[ | ]
The Ironbrow's Expedition faction gains access to a special tab that has unique units and items.
To retrieve Artefact parts, their locations must be occupied or controlled through military alliances. Once both parts of an Artefact have been collected it can be reforged to grant its benefits. Parts for the Beard Rings of Grimnir will only be rewarded upon completion of the Final Battle.
