The Grace of Quai Yin (Celestial Dragon Crossbows) are a
Grand Cathay Regiment of Renown missile infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Shadows of Change.
Recruitment[]
Description[]
In Grand Cathay, archery, and the use of missile weapons, is traditionally the domain of women. Though men can, and do, make up some of the empire’s missile troops – most notably those who wield the gunpowder weapons of the Great Bastion – the majority of archers and crossbow troops are female. This is the work of the Moon Dragon Quai Yin, herself an exceptional archer, who has for centuries encouraged girls across Cathay to master the art of bow and crossbow, as well as blessing their efforts with her magic.
Attributes[]
Missile Infantry- ▲ Crossbows of Quai Yin: Loosing arrows of mystical blue fire, they excel at setting vulnerable units ablaze and piercing the toughest armour.
- ▲
Harmony: Yin: This unit counts as a Yin unit and gains increased reload skill and leadership near Yang units. - ▲ Armour-Piercing Missiles: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
