- Not to be confused with The Great Book of Grudges (item).
The Great Book of Grudges is a unique mechanic for the Dwarfs factions in the campaign mode.
Dwarfs in Warhammer Fantasy are a vengeful race that does not forget any slight, no matter how minor.
How it works[]
Grudges are a unique Dwarfs game mechanic focusing on missions which task the player with seeking revenge for attacks on their faction. Each settlement/army is given an amount of "Settled Grudges" score. Destroying that settlement/army will grants the Settled Grudge, contributing towards the Age of Reckoning with 5 phases. Certain settlements will generate more grudges against Dwarfs if they're occupied by a non-Dwarf.

Age of Reckoning[]
Age of Reckoning is a mechanic added to every Dwarfs factions in Warhammer 3. Each turns, all factions will be assigned a certain amount of "Settled Grudges" to their armies/settlements depends on how much grievances they've caused towards you and the other Dwarfs by doing actions such as attacking, raiding, being hostile diplomatically, owning historically-dwarf-owned's settlements (Similar to Empire Region settlements)... which can be dealt with by defeating the said army, occupy/razing/sacking the said settlements earn Settled Grudges. You can also searn Settled Grudges by doing certain Legendary Grudges. The more Settle Grudges you have, the more towards Age of Reckoning you accomplish for your faction. Completing the Age of Reckoning within a certain amount of turns will grant you a free army led by a Daemon Slayer consiting of non-replenishing no upkeep army of Grudge Settlers, while granting some Grudge Settlers to be recruited just like Regiments of Renown. If you complete more Settled Grudges than another major Dwarf faction, you can easily confederate them in the Legendary Lords tab.
There are 5 tiers of Age of Reckoning (someone add a screenshot or a board or something idk).
Campaign Victory[]
Grudges are part of the campaign victory objectives for Dwarfs and Clan Angrund in WH1 and 2:
- Short Campaign
- Keep total severity below 9
- Long Campaign
- Ensure that there are no remaining grudges that haven't been avenged
