The Gwangee Valley is a province introduced in Total War: Warhammer III, located in Lustria.
Background[]
The Gwangee Valley is a central area of Lustria. The Mal'liente Swamps can be found here, a rare break in the Spine of Sotek, watched over by Hualotl, the City of Masks. Golden masks line every street of this sparsely populated Lizardmen temple-city; most appear to be Slann, while others take the form of jaguars, eagles, Stegadons, and other creatures. It is unknown what purpose they are for.
Close by is Chaqua, the City of Gold. Near the epicentre of Clan Pestilens's original incursion into Lustria, Chaqua contained the golden plaque which described the prophecy of Sotek, which was kept hidden from wider Slann knowledge thanks to its strangeness and obscurity. When the Lizardmen began to sicken from a virulent plague and a twin-tailed comet lit up the sky, the Slann of Chaqua accepted that the prophecy was true, although this acceptance did not save them from the plague. The golden plaque was rescued by one red-crested Skink, who carried it out of Chaqua to warn the rest of his kind, and rally them for revenge. The temple-city remains a corrupted ruin to this day.
