Description[ | ]
Toad Dragons are huge, reeking, primeval horrors. They are, for the fate of the world, blessedly few in number and confined largely to the trackless, otherworldly fens known as the Cold Mires under the coruscating skies of the uttermost north. These colossal beasts are near-mindless, violent and almost impossible to kill, and have a dire reputation in the legends of the Northern Wastes, which name them for their appearance and raw power. In truth they are perhaps far closer to the lumbering beasts that inhabit the jungles of Lustria than the true and ancient lineages of Dragon-kind.
Attributes[ | ]
Colossal Beast
- ▲ Unspeakable Foulness: So tainted and revolting is the breath of the Toad Dragon that those unfortunate enough to be engulfed by its corrosive miasma will experience the existential horror of blood and pus filling their lungs.
- ▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
- ▲ Scaly Skin: Scaly skin or hides help to dampen or deflect the damage caused by missile weapons, increasing this unit's Missile Resistance.

Strategy[ | ]
Toad Dragons are extremely durable and powerful melee monsters, their resilience allows them to get in close and smash apart everything in their path like a rabid Gorilla. A good tactic with the Toad Dragon is to take advantage of it's tough health pool, sending it into waves of infantry to obliterate them, hooking multiple units into an unwinnable battle with the monstrosity of Chaos. It is however vulnerable to artillery like Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers or other anti-large missile units, it does however have extremely high health as mentioned before, but it isn't a fire and forget, if too many units gang up on it, along with missile support of course, they can easily bring it down, the massive size of the Toad Dragon makes it vulnerable to being shot over melee units, making it...
1: Impossible to shield with smaller units like Chaos Warriors of Nurgle.
2: Able to be ganged up on by missiles and melee.
3: Too big for any hope of enemy shots missing.
It is a mandatory requirement with this unit to ensure you take advantage of it's charge bonus and colossal MA. Allowing it to pave the way for your infantry while also being durable enough to withstand attacks all the way until the end of a melee, whereas most monsters sent alone to fight an army would not survive.
