Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

Colossal, despotic ruler of his tribe – a position earned only by devouring his rivals.

Tyrant is an Ogre Kingdoms Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Ogre Kingdoms (DLC).

Recruitment[]

  • Selecting any Settlement or Ogre Camp and recruiting them in the Lord Recruit tab

Description[]

Ogres call the leaders of their tribes Tyrants and it is easy to see why. Tyrants are the biggest and strongest individuals in a hulking race that prides itself on these physical features. To claim rulership over a group of Ogres requires a mighty brawler, a creature powerful enough to wrestle a Giant to the ground or smash his way through a fortified gate using only his bare fists. An Ogre Tyrant uses his tremendous size and brawn to dominate, earning the right to command the tribe by displaying prodigious feats of what the Ogres respect the most – strength, violence, extraordinary girth and a healthy, all-consuming appetite.

Attributes[]

  • Lord
  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Melee Expert: Melee Experts might have a very strong melee attack or melee defence, or high values in both. Some also have melee-focused skills like Charge Defence. Use them to counter other strong melee units. When facing them, it is best to take them out before they can enter melee.
  • Ogre Charge: When attacking braced charge defenders, this unit only loses half of its charge bonus.

Strategy[]

Compare to Slaughtermaster, they can get access to regeneration much earlier, with 11 skill points required in the yellow-line along with increasing charge bonuses and damage for the entire army while generally, being way better at combat. Other than that, Slaughtermaster overshadow this Lord: Increased replenishment rate, increased research rates, requiring only 1 skill point (but rank 20) to access Regeneration along with the ability to generate Winds of Magic during battles while doing a somewhat decent work in combat.
