Though Ulrika has taken the Blood Kiss, it does not define her. She remains loyal to humanity, to death and far beyond.

Ulrika Magdova is a Kislev Kislev, Karaz-a-Karak Dwarfs and Reikland Empire Legendary Hero unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Update 3.0.

For Dwarfs she can only be recruited by Masters of Innovation Masters of Innovation. She can be recruited by other Dwarfs factions if Masters of Innovation recruit her before being confederated.

Description[ | ]

Ulrika Magdova Straghov is the daughter of Ivan Mikelovitch Straghov, one of the Kislevite march boyars who guards the borders of that frozen realm against the depredations of Chaos. She is a tall, independent woman, as ferocious in combat as any man, skilled with the bow, and an accomplished horsewoman to boot. Once he had awoken the Eye, Adolpus Krieger finally turned Ulrika, against her will, into a Vampire. After a while, she found herself taking increasing pleasure in the draining of her blood as well as, reluctantly, Adolphus' conversation, as he told her of all the people he had met and places he had been...

  • Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
  • Hybrid: This unit can perform well in both ranged combat and melee.
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Duellist: This unit is best used to attack individual targets such as Icon armyLords or Icon heroHeroes. As it can only damage very few individuals at a time, it is not suitable against hordes of weak enemies.

Strategy[ | ]

One of the roundiest of all-rounders in the game, Ulrika excels at nothing and is competent at everything. She can be specced a number of different ways to better suit each of the three factions she can be unlocked for, making unlocking her early ideal. Once the necessary building is complete, a good way of meeting the money requirement is to do a lord quest and then sit on the reward rather than spend it, and/or sell off a settlement you don't currently need.

For the Empire, she is essentially a Grey Wizard that can take care of themselves in combat, freeing up valuable Battle Wizard capacity. The Dwarfs don't have access to magic in any other form, making concentrating on this part of her skill tree a no-brainer. Her unique line has a number of passives that Kislev will find useful, particularly the Chaos Waste attrition reduction and the plague immunity ones. Once she unlocks the Hunger she becomes a pretty formidable melee fighter, albeit one that will need help against high level duelists. Against such enemies it's worth remembering she has a bow, although it's not particularly effective against non-large targets.
