Description[ | ]
Amongst the Skullreapers of the mortal tribes there are those who stand apart, known by other Khorne-worshipping warriors as the Wrathmongers. They are feared and revered in equal measure, having braved a bloody path that few survive. Beginning their journeys under the tutelage of the Bloodspeakers, they are goaded into fighting amongst each other day and night and feed on the fallen. Finally, they undertake the Pilgrimage of Skulls to reach the Brazen Cage, the sacred Khornate shrine atop a mountain of skulls on the edge of the Realm of Chaos. There they battle Daemons summoned for the final trial, the stakes being the aspirants' own souls. Those who emerge alive are greater than when they entered, for their mortal flesh has been made mighty through battle and infused with the unnatural energies of slain Daemons.
Attributes[ | ]
Hammer Flail Infantry
- ▲ Armour-Piercing Melee: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
- ▲ Frenzy: Units with
frenzy cause more damage while their
leadership is high.

Wrathmongers are amongst the most powerful shock troops within the entire game, able to outfight and defeat almost every other melee units from all other races. With an astounding 60 base melee attack and 80 melee strength, they outperfrom even Chosen of Khorne with duel weapons whilst still possessing a 50 base melee defence. When Frenzy is applied, it rises to 70 melee attack, 88 melee strength and an immunity to pyschology. Lastly, their are very fast, almost as fast as a Slaaneshi units.
They are best described as the ultimate meat-grinder unit. Wrathmongers are one of the few units in the game to have an AoE splash damage as well as a knock-back effect. This essentially allows the unit to demolish weaker melee infantry and the knock-back effect essentially acts a sort of stun ability, where a single Wrathmonger can knock back several enemy models with every swing of their chain-hammers, reducing the effectiveness of the enemies numbers and delaying their attack intervals.
Even surrounding the Wrathmongers can be ineffective because they also possess the Immunity to Flanking attribute as well as a flat 35% spell resistance.
This essentially makes Wrathmongers almost unstoppable in melee and the only feasible way to defeat them is through range units as their low armor, lack of shields and small model count makes them easy targets for artillery.
