Description[]

During the Empire's crusade against Sylvania, the Drakwald Riders were gifted a detachment of Karl Franz's Reiksguard, a proud order of warriors who have a long and storied history. These were Zintler's Reiksguard, named after their Reikscaptain, Hans Zintler. They were considered exceptional even amongst their renowned order, although they were not part of its Inner Circle.

Masters of the long-hafted lance, each of these plate-armoured Knights trains extensively in tilt and Tournament before committing to the battlefield. It is often bandied about in the Altdorf stables that each member of the Reiksguard can hit a playing card's ace at full gallop, though their sullen rivals muster that this impressive reputation is as much bought with Imperial gold as it is earned on the field of battle.

Zintler's Reiksguard are notable for their gaudy plate armour, bearing symbols and designs more commonly associated with a Knightly Order's elite Demigryph Knights. They are completely fearless in battle, often acting as a vanguard for Imperial armies.

Attributes[]

  • Shock Cavalry
  • Armoured & Shielded: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage. Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.

Difference from Reiksguard[]

Strategy[]

This regiment of renown receives vanguard deployment and immune to psychology. This allows them to deploy sneakily and hold longer against fear and terror-causing enemies.
